Can I configure Email Notifications?

You cannot currently turn off email notifications (single or batched) for tasks and projects, but there are ways to reduce the amount of email you receive from Asana by unfollowing project or tasks.

Email notifications keep you informed about the changes and updates to your tasks and projects. You can read our article on when email notifications are sent for more info on when they'll be sent.

How can I reduce the number of emails I receive from Asana?

We are developing an in-app notification system that may eliminate your need for notification emails, but have not determined a definite timeline.

Unfollow items
Unfollow ProjectUnfollow projects and unfollow tasks to stop receiving updates about these items. Be careful not to unfollow important items that you need updates on!

To unfollow a project, select it from the left pane and click the Unfollow button to the right of the Share button. You can also select the project title and open the right details pane to select the unfollow button.

Unfollow Task
To unfollow a task, select it and open the right pane. Select the Unfollow button at the right of the Followers section.

Opt out of Daily Reminder Summaries

Keep in mind email notifications are different from daily email reminders, which you can opt out of.

Filter your emails

For now, you can filter emails that come to your inbox by the project name, which will appear in the subject line of notification emails. This way, you can keep the ones most relevant to you in your inbox and reroute others.
