AI Studio is available on Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+ plans. Visit asana.com/ai to learn more about the launch of Asana AI Studio.
Note
Starting in June 2025, AI Studio Basic is automatically provisioned in paid domains using Asana AI, eliminating the need for customers to enable individual AI Studio builders.
Asana AI Studio is a no-code builder where you can build Smart workflows to pass off your teams’ busywork, and deploy them where your teams work. To build and deploy AI-powered workflows confidently, start with the AI Studio Foundations skill badge in the Asana Academy. You’ll learn how to write effective prompts, plan Smart workflows, and troubleshoot common issues.
With Smart workflows, you can achieve outcomes like:
Smart workflows are rule-based automations that use AI to analyze and process work based on natural language user instructions. AI Studio provides a no-code interface to set them up in minutes, combining the power of large language models (LLMs) and Asana’s rules engine. Smart workflows created in AI Studio can then be published for use across your organization.
AI Studio supports a wide range of use cases across different teams. The examples below highlight how Marketing, Operations, and IT teams are using AI Studio today, along with the core capabilities that make these workflows possible. These use cases and capabilities are based on customer examples and best practices, and will continue to expand as AI Studio evolves.
Examples include campaign management, project intake, compliance and risk management, ticketing, and sprint management.
Capabilities such as auto discovery, document analysis, and goal alignment help teams streamline work, improve accuracy, and stay aligned with business goals.
Think of AI Studio as a no-code builder for making intelligent rules within Asana. These rules serve as the building blocks for workflows. By combining these rules, you can construct Smart workflows.
Creating a Smart workflow is a simple and intuitive process, very similar to the Asana rule builder, which relies on triggers, conditions, and actions.
What’s different about AI Studio is that you can provide instructions to Asana AI, in natural language and via reference materials. These instructions make it possible to handle situations that require more complex logic than conventional rules. For example, instead of writing a rule that checks the value of a custom field from a preset list in order to route a task to the correct person, you can ask Asana AI to evaluate the task based on a document of best practices and decide on the right next step. See Writing instructions in AI Studio for more on crafting well-written instructions.

To get the most out of the customizations available in AI Studio, it's important to use them safely and responsibly. We encourage our customers to consider the potential impact of their workflows, including by familiarizing themselves with industry standard usage policies set by our AI partners (see OpenAI and Anthropic).
Remember: Asana’s customers are responsible for the workflows they design. The goal is to enhance human creativity and problem-solving, not replace human judgment or ethics. By following these principles, you will likely achieve better, more meaningful results from your AI interactions while maintaining ethical standards. The key to success is experimentation, iteration, and testing. Don't be afraid to try new approaches and refine your prompts based on results.
