Downgrading from a paid plan
You can downgrade from any paid Asana plan to Asana Personal at any time. Here's what you need to know about the downgrade process.
Before downgrading, review what changes and make sure your team is prepared. Some features will become unavailable.
How to downgrade
- Click your profile photo in the top right corner
- Navigate to the Billing tab
- Select Edit plan or Cancel plan
- Choose Downgrade to Personal
- Review the changes and confirm
What happens when you downgrade
You'll keep:
✅ All your projects with 2 or less members
✅ All your data and work history
✅ List, board, and calendar views
✅ Basic integrations
✅ Mobile and desktop apps
You'll lose access to:
❌ Asana AI
❌ AI Studio
❌ Access to projects with paid features in it
❌ Projects with more than 2 members
❌ Timeline view (Gantt charts)
❌ Workflow builder and automation rules
❌ Advanced reporting and dashboards
❌ Forms
❌ Advanced search

Understanding seat limits
Asana Personal includes up to 2 seats per project and team. If your team currently has more than 2 active users, you'll need to take action when downgrading.
When you downgrade with more than 2 users:
- You'll be prompted to remove users to fit within the 2-seat limit
- Removed users will lose access to the workspace but their work history remains
Some users may have access to a legacy personal plan with different seat limits. During the downgrade process, you'll see your specific plan details.
Can I change my mind?
Yes! You can upgrade back to a paid plan at any time. Your workspace and data will be exactly as you left it.

Who gets access to the legacy personal plan?
You have the legacy personal plan (up to 10 seats) if you:
- Were already using Asana Personal before November 12, 2025
- Started a free trial before November 12, 2025
- Started paying within 90 days before November 12, 2025
