On February 27, 2026, the Asana app in Salesforce’s AppExchange marketplace will be deprecated and removed from the marketplace.

Asana customers should use the native "Salesforce in Asana” app going forward. As part of this transition, the older Salesforce AppExchange integration listed in the AppExchange will no longer be supported and will be fully deprecated on February 27, 2026..

This FAQ outlines what’s changing, why we’re making this update, and how you can smoothly transition to the new integration.

Why is Asana deprecating the Asana in Salesforce AppExchange integration?

Asana has continued to expand its workflow automation and platform capabilities, including features like Rules and AI Studio. In early 2025, we released a new Salesforce integration built on top of Asana’s platform with rules, triggers, sync actions, and AI Studio. This integration enables deeper automation and more advanced workflows.

Our new integration is built entirely on Asana’s platform. Maintaining two similar integrations adds complexity for both customers and Asana, so we are consolidating onto the new version to deliver a more reliable, scalable, and feature-rich experience.

What is the “Salesforce in Asana” app, and why is it better?

The native Salesforce integration is Asana’s newest way to connect Salesforce with your Asana workflows. It offers more power, flexibility, and automation.

Key improvements include:

  • Native setup in Asana: No need to install or manage an AppExchange package.
  • Sync capability from Salesforce into Asana: Keep Asana fields automatically updated when Salesforce fields change.
  • More powerful rule actions: Salesforce events can trigger any Asana rule action - such as creating approvals, updating fields, adding collaborators, posting comments, and more.
  • AI Studio support: Build AI-powered workflows that help classify, route, and manage work using context from the triggering Salesforce record.
  • Modern, scalable architecture: Built on Asana’s latest automation and integration platform.

When is the Salesforce AppExchange integration being deprecated?

The Salesforce AppExchange integration will be deprecated on February 27, 2026. After this date:

  • Linked Asana tasks and project lightning components will no longer function
  • Apex actions in the integration package will no longer function
  • The integration will not be available for installation from App Exchange

Will Asana provide support during this transition?

Yes. Support is available through:

  • Your Asana account team if included in your plan
  • Professional services for custom or complex integration needs

If you require advanced or customized workflows, your Asana team can help guide you or scope Professional Services support.
