Benefits of team content permissions

  1. Enables team admins to maintain control over official team content and what appears on the team page.
  2. Prevents accidental sharing of sensitive or irrelevant information with the entire team.
  3. Helps create focused, curated spaces for important team resources and communications.

Editing team content permissions

  1. Open the Team settings menu.
  2. Navigate to the Advanced tab.
  3. You will find the content permission options under Editing permissions.

Team admins have the following options

  1. Team members can create and anyone can share (default): This maintains the current behavior, allowing all team members to create projects, templates, goals, and messages within the team. Anyone can share content with the team.

  2. Only team admins: Restricts content creation and sharing to team admins only. Non-admin team members cannot create new projects, templates, or goals within the team or share content with the team.

When the Only team admins option is selected, non-admin users will need to request that an admin create or share the desired content on their behalf. Alternatively, they can create a new personal team to house their projects or templates.

Frequently asked questions

Will this setting affect existing team content?

No, this setting only applies to new content creation and sharing moving forward. Existing projects, templates, goals, and messages within the team will remain unaffected.

What happens if a non-admin tries to create or share content in a restricted team?

Non-admin users will be unable to select a team where they are restricted from creating or sharing content. For messages, non-admins will no longer be able to send messages to the team, although they will be able to reply to existing messages. This also disables the email to message functionality.

Can this setting be applied to multiple teams at once?
