Available on Asana Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+ tiers. This feature requires AI toggles on. Not available on mobile devices.
Asana users can create projects with AI by either choosing from a selection of pre-built prompts or by providing their own prompt.
How to create a project with AI if you are new to Asana
- To get started, go to asana.com/create.
- Write your own prompt and click Create, or choose a pre-built prompt.
- Create an Asana account.
- Once your account is set up, you can see your project and begin refining it.
Note
If you are an existing Asana user and are logged into your account, you will be redirected to the product. A trialing or paid account is required to use this feature.
How to create a project with AI if you are an existing Asana user
This experience is currently in testing and only available to some users.
If you have an Asana account, click the Omni plus button, choose Project, then Create with AI. You can also use smart chat to create a new project.
Customizing your project
Once the project is created, you can customize it using chat or make adjustments manually.
In the example below, a request form is added via chat.
Once you’re happy with your project, click Go to project in the top-right corner.
Using smart chat
Once your new project is in Asana, smart chat opens automatically. Ask questions or use suggested resources.
You can also ask smart chat to help you create another project with AI.
At this time, you cannot modify existing projects using smart chat. However, you can use smart chat to create and update tasks in existing projects.
