Note
App integrations enable data exchange between Asana and third-party services via API. By default, users may authenticate and connect Asana to both corporate and personal accounts on these external platforms. Non-Asana products are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Customers retain full control over the availability of app integrations. Authorized admins with access to App Management may configure app preferences directly in the admin console. Organizations without these controls may restrict user access by contacting Asana Support.
What is the Asana app in ChatGPT?
The Asana app in ChatGPT connects your Asana work with ChatGPT's AI capabilities. From a single ChatGPT conversation, you can check on portfolios, create and assign tasks, kick off new projects, and review work—all without switching between tools.
Using the Asana app in ChatGPT
The Asana app UI gives you a simple, built-in UI in ChatGPT, so you can work with Asana tasks and projects more efficiently without switching tools.
If you don’t see the UI widgets available to you, it’s likely that you are in a ChatGPT Enterprise or Edu workspace. Your ChatGPT admins will need to manually refresh the tools for the Asana app in the ChatGPT admin console, following instructions in this documentation.
Plan tasks and projects in ChatGPT
When brainstorming an idea or planning out strategic initiatives in ChatGPT, you can use the Asana for ChatGPT app to create a task or an entire project based on your discussion with ChatGPT.
You can edit the task name, assign tasks to team members, and modify due dates before instantiating this project in Asana.
Gantt view for time-bound projects
If you are planning a time-bound project, Asana and ChatGPT will automatically create your project in Gantt view.
Monitor work progress
You can monitor work progress by asking Asana and ChatGPT to summarize the status or identify blockers for a project and it will return a list of relevant tasks to drill down on.
